You should try 2.92 as one item of this has been fixed by but I think you'd always see a crash then, not a stall. I've had good results with patching like this for 2.77: So that might be why stopping and restarting fixes it. This could be related to a couple of problems that I have found.Ģ.) if the acquired metadata pieces are determined to be bad we just keep retrying the same over and over. rootserver: transmission-daemon -f Transmission 1.21 (5898) started Invalid metadata entry 'announce-list' Opened port 51413 to listen for incoming peer connections Got 1 peers from. Also, if I remote the torrent and then redo it, from the same link, then it will also begin processing normally. I ended the transmission-daemon from init.d and ran transmission-daemon -f, not sure if this looks like it is working, maybe the torrents were Code: Select all. If I stop and then restart the daemon then the hung torrent begins downloading normally. No connection problems as other torrents start and download to completion while this is happening.

There are lots of 100% seeds connected and in the "D" state. It never downloads the meta data (size and file names). There could be a bug with how Transmission is treating the peer listening port, displaying it as open when in fact it's having some sort of issue which may have been fixed with a restart.īlinding wrote:Also seeing this problem. I'm not sure if steps 1-2 (changing save location and firewall) really did anything. Then all of my magnet links started downloading. Transmission then decided that 51413 was open! Before the restart port 51413 had been appearing as open.ĥ. I clicked 'randomise' so that it choose a random port, then I changed the port back to 51413. After the restart, when I went into Network section of Transmission Preferences, I noticed that the peer listening port that I had always been using (51413) was appearing as closed.

I then turned off the firewall within Mac OS System Preferences, then turned it back on.Ĥ. I then changed it back to its original location (downloads).Ģ.
#Transmission torrent not working utorrent#
The one that didn't was actually also not working on utorrent which tells me that it's a problem with the torrent itself. First I changed the save location of torrents to my desktop. Some magnitized downloads that were not working, I took the URL and put it in utorrent and it did not work, then I took 2 magnitized URLs (new ones) and put them in transmission and 1 worked and the other didn't. Ok magnet links are now working but I'm not sure if this is how I fixed it:ġ.
